autumn

dahlias from our early friday morning pram walk

today is the first day of autumn. we have been doing a massive clean-upof things and it feels good. we did lots of cleaning out before Lottie Pearl came along but now she is here we really have an understanding of what things we need and don't need.

finding lots of things we love but no longer use or no longer foresee having the time to use. handing on, gifting and taking to the op-shop....

goodluck to uncle john who is intensive care in an induced coma. he will be having brain scans today and hopefully we recieve good news.

i'm sure lottie pearl would enjoy one of these! however, i'm currently knitting her daddy some slippers and a beanie

we took a family trip to the national gallery of victoria today and even ate a meal out together! what a treat!

good food day

what a day of lovely food and company!

breakfast: el joyero cafe (paprika charred corn, chorizo and fried eggs)
lunch: willow, russ, nina and us three (curried pumpkin soup, baked pumpkin, salad and then banana bread with double cream, blueberries and honey!)
dinner: leftover pumpkin soup

burst water pipes

dear me.

our water pipe burst under the bathroom sink and flooded our bathroom!

had to lay out all of our bits and bobs (deoderants, hair clippers, nail polish, jewellery, first aid kit) on towels to dry out.

what a disaster......

at the moment there are packages left right and centre - all celebrating the arrival of Lottie Pearl! Still! I've gotten to know the mail man quite well!

meanwhile........a little tiny thing called painting your nails makes me feel like not such a drab ole' housewife when sometimes i can't even get out of my pj's!

when my sister visited we spoke about KIT nail polish and what colours we wanted. I have been lusting after a minty sort of pastel green and an orangey, pinky coral. I only have pink and red nailpolish and my sister SCOFFED at my small collection.

might splurge a lil with my pocket money this week!

orchids and walnuts

we recieved some beautiful flowers upon the birth of Lottie Pearl - one of which was a white orchid which constantly reminds us of our time in Tokyo.
After nearly 3 months, a couple of the flower heads have dropped off..........
