body
it has been almost as interesting watching how my body has changed after pregnancy as during pregnancy. discovering new (old) clothes. painting toe nails that previously i couldn't reach. wearing shoes other than my old faithful birkies cause my feet are back to their regular size. i'm by no means back to my old self! and if i'm honest, i'm looking forward to getting back to my old weight but i do have to accept that my body shape will be changed forever.
and i'm kinda okay with that. i have my beautiful daughter because of it!

can't believe it
can't believe i managed to start, finish AND clean up a craft project all in one afternoon! particularly with Lottie Pearl around.
after a rather overwhelming yesterday, today has been blissful. full of lots of naps, lots of smiles, lots of sitting and spying the world, lots of nappy off time and even a bath!
since buying a pram the other day and now knowing what i require from a nappy bag i have made one (and didn't even need to go to spotlight!) from a vintage pillowcase and other odds and ends. it has a spot for everything we need just for a quick getaway in the pram. the bare essentials if you will!
i feel very proud and satisfied!
(this bag was inspired by Lotta Jansdotter's nappy bag design from Simple Sewing For Baby and yes! she is the inspiration behind Lottie's name!)
summer days
this parenthood thing is sure as hell hard! anyone who tells you it isn't is CRAZY! the highs are super high and the lows are super low and we're just so thankful for everyone who has helped and stuck around even though we have lost our minds and cannot immediately reciprocate with gratitude or return favours.
but whilst we are cocooned in this seemingly weird, little summer bubble of over-tiredness, laundry, tears and damned hard work the world continues to go on! evidence of this is seen in our garden. zucchini's and cucumbers thrive despite my absence and remind me that life is going on regardless and to appreciate this arduous journey and labour of love.

summer VS winter
it has been getting quite hot here....and i feel bad for wanting winter back but our dear little Lottie Pearl gets so disgruntled in the heat. And looking at all this northern hemisphere wintery goodness makes me wanna get my knitting needles a-clacking!

new years day
Lottie Pearl in her sugarglider suit
prompted by another to think about all the things i'm proud of doing in 2010....
+ saved a friendship and a love which have both turned into more than one could ever hope for
+travelled to tokyo
+worked hard
+crafted harder!
+learnt to bake my own sourdough bread
+did my best to spend as much time as possible with those i love
+created a human with the most incredible man in the world and bought her safely into this world
as for 2011? I'm too sleep deprived to properly think about it but taking each day as it comes will do me just fine. life is at it's most base/simple and it just couldn't get any better. any lows only serve to make the highs feel even more beautiful and satisfying.
